On August 28, 1963, during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic words calling for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Many of the individuals who continued that fight here in Citrus County are now laid to rest in Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery. We proudly share their stories as part of this important remembrance.
The Friends of Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Citrus County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Gala in support of our ongoing mission to preserve, maintain, advocate for, and beautify the Historic Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery, which dates to 1884. Join us for a beautiful celebration of community that unites state and local officials, business and civic leaders, residents, and Citrus County natives from near and far to commemorate the legacy, history, and heritage of Citrus County, Florida. Funds raised from this event directly support ongoing restoration and preservation of the Historical Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
