September Cemetery Stewards Roundtable:
The Story and Preservation of Mother Archie’s Church and Cemetery
Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 7PM ET on Zoom
FREE to attend - registration required.
Presented by Timotha Trigg
‘Mother’ Linda Archie was the first ordained minister in the African Union Methodist Protestant Church. In 1891, she purchased a site in Chadd’s Ford, Delaware County containing an unusual octagonal early 19th century school building. For over forty years, Mother Archie shepherded a church community that congregated in this converted school building. Today the church and its associated cemetery stand in ruins. Join us for a Stewards Roundtable with guest speaker Timotha Trigg to learn more about the story and preservation efforts centered on this historic place.
Discussion will include:
How did Ms. Trigg get into this field of work
Challenges and successes of the preservation work
Descendant involvement
Plans for the future
